Aerial Target Launcher

The last target from Starkhafn Anniversary 2014 was our ‘birds’, the blue foam disks you see in this awesome device.  We saw it at Estrella 2013 and oohed and aahed, but the price was just too much for us to handle.  Instead we took pictures and had designs to make our own with the help of Erlan.  Sadly Erlan suffered some serious medical complications, but happily we saw the launcher again at Estrella 2014.

At that point, we had a little more in the way of spending money, and made the purchase to take it home with us. It ended up going in the baronial trailer as we discovered that not only is the base bolted together, it is also glued, which made it unable to fit in either of the archers cars.

At anniversary we provided flu flu arrows and had each person shoot six, one archer at a time.  While this made for great watching, it did slow the shooting down considerably.  Next time we decided we should have several people on the line for each launch.

 

We still hope that one day Erlan and ourselves can build a second so that they can be used as a pair!
